Everybody loves cookies. And nobody loves them as much as children do. While it’s fun to bake sweet treats from scratch, we don’t always have the time (or the patience!) to do so. That’s where the beauty of no-bake cookies comes in – they’re quick, easy and fuss-free! Best of all, they’re equally delicious to treats that are baked from scratch!

Try these mouth-watering no-bake cookie recipes that children will definitely love:

Easy Choco-Oat Bars

What you need:

  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter then stir in the brown sugar and vanilla. Add the quick-cooking oats, reduce the heat to low and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and press half of the cooked oats into a greased 9×9 inch pan. Reserve the remaining oats for topping.

In the same saucepan, add the chocolate chips and the peanut butter and melt them together over low heat, stirring frequently. Stir until mixture is smooth, then pour over the pressed oats in the pan. Using the back of the spoon, spread the mixture evenly.

Top the chocolate layer with the reserved oats, pressing gently. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When ready, place in room temperature for a few minutes before slicing into bars.

Cocoa and Peanut Butter Cookies

What you need:

  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, butter, milk and cocoa powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.

When ready, add the peanut butter. Stir until mixture is well-blended. Add the quick cooking oats, peanuts (if using) and vanilla extract. Stir until all ingredients are well-combined.

Place a piece of foil or wax paper on a cookie sheet and drop teaspoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared cookie sheet. Cool completely in the refrigerator. Store leftovers in a cool, dry place.
